Our team

The lawyers of COUSIN & ASSOCIES are dedicated to the different aspects of Intellectual Property law.

We are all involved in specialized associations in IP (ECTA, INTA, AIPPI, APRAM, APEB, AAPI, AFPPI…).

Some of us are teaching Intellectual Property law, for example et the CEIPPI (Centre International de la Propriété Intellectuelle), University of Strasbourg.

Myriam Moatty

Myriam Moatty has been dealing with IP matters for 30 years. She is described as “efficient and smart, achieving excellent results”. (WTR1000 - 2020) 


A recognized specialist in intellectual property law, Myriam Moatty has been collaborating with Pierre Cousin since 1996 in order to defend and advise all-sized companies in complex IP disputes in the field of trademarks, patents, designs, copyright as well as unfair competition. 


She also assists clients in their protection strategy and in the negotiation and drafting of contracts in transactions involving intellectual property and related fields.


Active in several specialized associations (APRAM, AAPI…) she has notably been member of the Board of Directors of the French group of the AIPPI (International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property).


She wrote with Pierre Cousin the booklet of the French Encyclopedia
Jurisclasseur dedicated to fraud in trademark law. 

 

Ranked among the best lawyers in her field, she is ranked by the French magazine Decideurs as « Inescapable » in trademarks and Designsmatters, and as « Excellent » in Patent litigation. 


She is also described as “
sensational by peers who admire her expertise in trademark law and her litigation skills” in Who’s Who Legal 2016 and recognized in the IP STARS Handbook as a “prominent trademark litigator”.


In 2019, she was granted the Client Choice Award (in Intellectual Property, Designs and Models and Know-How) by LEXOLOGY.

Jean-Martin Chevalier

Specialist in intellectual property law. 

“Jean-Martin Chevalier is carving out a name for himself with work for pharma startups… He’s described as « very good, serious » by his pairs.” (JUVE PATENT 2020)


French Lawyer (Avocat) registered at the Paris Bar since 1998, Jean-Martin CHEVALIER has been working with Pierre Cousin from the beginning of his career. He has been a partner of the firm since 2008. 


Totally bilingual French/German, he had been working in Bonn (Germany) as parliamentary assistant before his admission to the Bar of Paris.


His practice is mainly dedicated to patent and plant patent litigation. He also deals with design and trade mark cases.


He is a member of the French-German lawyers’ Association, of the Franco-German Chamber of Commerce, as well as of AIPPI and APEB. 


Jean-Martin CHEVALIER teaches Patent law at the University of Strasbourg (CEIPI).

Eva DURAND holds a Master II degree in Digital Law (Droit du Commerce Electronique et de l'Economie Numérique) from Paris I University (Panthéon-Sorbonne).

 

She’s member of the Paris Bar since January 2024.

 

Before joining COUSIN & ASSOCIES in 2023, Eva completed several internships in law firms as well as in the intellectual property departments of companies acting in the field of luxury or music production.

 

   

BACKGROUND:


2022-2023: HEDAC - Haute Ecole des Avocats Conseils (Bar School of Versailles) and CAPA (Certificat d’Aptitude à la Profession d'Avocat).

2020: Master Degree in Digital Law (Droit du Commerce Electronique et de l'Economie Numérique) -Paris I University (Panthéon-Sorbonne).
